WEM has a multi-year contract with the Waste Management Division of the VT DEC to conduct environmental monitoring at three sites contaminated by waste generated by UniFirst, a uniform dry cleaning service. The sites are located in Williamstown, Brookfield, and Randolph, Vermont. The primary contaminants of concern are chlorinated hydrocarbons stemming from former releases of dry-cleaning wastes. The monitoring involves sampling of air from inside 10 buildings, sampling of 12 supply wells/springs, sampling of 6 groundwater seeps, and low-flow sampling of 33 groundwater monitoring wells. WEM is responsible for all fieldwork, project management, technical reporting, and database management.
